great show.
This is a really good show and the sound quality, while not the greatest, is definitely good enough to get a feel for what to expect from Brothers Past in 2004. A nice show with a lot of energy and some dudes who can tear it up.
Just an FYI for the person requesting a soundboard patch. If you want them, you will be able to PURCHASE them from brotherspast.com soon. They don't give out patches anymore so don't expect to see them any time soon here at the archive.

???
maybe the show "live" was all that...but what the h*ll does it take to get a DECENT sounding show round here..or furthur..or anywhere!...with all due respect, the sound quality sucks...and i'm in need of a BP show that sounds good for a change...maybe i'm spoiled...and i know nothing about taping or the equip involved...or if an AKG "just sounds better"...but i have PLENTY-o-shows that sound so much beter than this?? very disappointing given the reviews...how 'bout a sound board patch?? - RG

Huh?
What's this 20,000 amphitheater dealamagiggie? I don't seem to recall any of that.
Anyway, this show is HOT HOT HOT! Arguably the best all around show of TORR. DOWNLOAD IT NOW!!!
You won't regret it.

Martyr's Ampitheatre
Dude, Martyr's Ampitheatre is huge! It holds like 20,000 people. It was kind of a bummer though, since the show was outside and freezing cold. One would think not to play outside in Chicago in March, but "kidz, I already had 'em". Otherwise, the show was great even though I passed out during intermission due to a lack of sleep and alcohol. The London Calling is like a Clash song, and I like the Clash. The rest of 'em I don't know.

Chi-town, the greatest town...
Four deep this night was good for me. It's hard to drag my people to see shows that normally they wouldn't attend w/out my recommendation. One of them...somewhat a listener, another, my girlfriend, and another turns his head away from anything he doesn't discover first.
Enough of that...I really wanted to hear YOTH going into the night, because it's the only song my girlfriend plays constantly. So, it would be nice if she got her treat.
Opener=Year of the Horse. I run to the bathroom to drag her off the pot, and pull her into the mayhem that was coming our way. The vocals were lied down perfectly, and the song seemed to have been played flawlessly, as it should. They entered the jam, letting the crowd know what they were in for. They approached their "housey" sound w/ the keys lying down a sonic thump right away. W/ buildup after buildup, they finally set in on a faster groove, w/ the bassdrum hitting hard and fast. Just the way I like it. As the jam moves on, it grows faster, deeper, and darker. Leaving me "right @ the tip of evil". Everyone was shredding. Then, the sounds of "up in arms". This segment of the show was executed just the way it should've been. This was a great way to introduce Chicago to Brother's Past. I won't ramble this much about the rest of the show, but just wanted to express the "mood" intro of the night.
I won't comment much on "London Calling", because I really didn't care for their version (song section). But as this jam crept on, the drums of "Celebrity" came in. Another song I was heavily awaiting. THis was the highlight of the night for me. Deep, complex, and dark. There were so many sounds coming out of this jam. It was the most detailed of the night, IMO. Exactly what I wanted. Pure, experimental, detailed, and hard. This was by far the best version I had ever heard. I had never seen the song before, but did have it on a few discs. I will leave my review at that. The rest of the show was superb. Some even calling it the best BP show ever. I wouldn't know that, cause it was only my fourth, and I probably only own 50 of their discs.
The second set was stunning, but in my eyes, not as much as the first. "Tinman" was huge to hear, cause I have a spot for this song. I'd have to say that >Tinman was my highlight, cause of course, it raged, and raged hard.
This show did it for me. I didn't need much more convincing w/ these guys, but a little more definitely helped.
